Explore fine motor skills and sensory details as you try your hand at floral arrangements!

  • Lend A Hand: Give your students creative freedom! Ask them to choose a paint color, then guide each student’s hand into the paint. With their palm in the paint, ask them how it feels! Let them explore their senses — is it cold, gooey, smooth? If they don’t like it, encourage them to identify that feeling too!
  • Finger Painting Petals: Strengthen those fine motor skills with a little extra paint! Dip your students’ index fingers into green paint, then have them draw petal shapes onto the canvas. Need a little extra help? Try drawing the shape in pencil first and tracing the outline with their finger.

Sensory crafts come with big feelings — just like Mother’s Day! After crafting, prompt each student with this question: “What’s one thing you love about your mom?” Then, write their answers on the bouquet card to share with her!
