Paint Brush and Sponge Dabber

Wiggly Eyes

Instructions



Step  1.

Begin by painting your canvas. Use a wide brush to paint a layer of dark blue paint about halfway down the canvas as a base, then use a sponge dabber to press layers of lighter blue on top.

Step  2.

On the bottom of the canvas, paint wispy strokes of dark green to create grass.

Then, turn your brush sideways and paint wispy strokes of lighter green on top to make smaller bits of grass. Paint until your grass meets your sky.

While your canvas dries, print out the downloadable Yak template, above, and cut out. Trace the pieces onto foam or felt.

 

The bushy hair, half-circle feet, and small rectangular nostrils should be dark brown

The long half-oval face and rectangle legs should be tan

The horns should be white

The snout should be pink

Once your canvas is completely dry, assemble your yak as shown. Don’t forget to add the wiggly eyes!

Finally, cut 1 green fuzzy stick into 3 equal pieces and twist together. Put them in your yak’s mouth for a delicious grass snack!

Glue your yak to your canvas. Your yak project is now complete!
