Recycled Straw Christmas Tree Craft

Use straws to create a unique Christmas tree display with mini homemade ornaments that glisten! Who thought straws could be so festive and beautiful?!

To create the base of the tree, glue 4 mini craft sticks as shown.

Use a large push pin to poke holes through the middle of 19 straws.

Push the dowel through the straws. In between each straw, place a clear pony bead.

Use a ruler to draw a straight line from the top of the dowel to the bottom corners, as shown.

Cut along both lines to create the triangle shape.

Glue the bottom of the tree to the base create in Step 2.

Spread out all the straw branches, as shown. Then, stick a gold star sticker to each side of the dowel at the top.

Trace a circle large enough to fit around the base of the tree on 1 piece of white felt.
- TIP: Use the lid of a large mason jar/ jelly jar to help you!

Cut out the white felt circle and cut a slit in the middle.

Glue large gold and red sequins around the edge of the circle. Continue until the outer edge is covered.

Repeat Step 11 with medium-sized sequins, then make 2 rows with the smaller sequins and fill it in the middle with the smallest sequins.

Loop gold craft wire through a jingle bell and twist to secure it. Trim any excess wire, but leave enough to use as a hook later.

Cut a 3-inch piece of gold craft wire and create a small loop at the bottom, so the beads don’t fall.
