|Step 1. Gather your materials. |
To create the base of the tree, glue together (4) mini craft sticks, as shown.
Use an over-sized push pin to poke holes through the middle of each straw.
You will need 19 straws.
Push a dowel through the straws. In between each straw, place a clear pony bead.
Use a ruler to draw a straight line from the top of the dowel, to the bottom corners, as shown.
Cut along both lines.
Glue the bottom of the tree to the base created in Step 2.
Spread out all of the straw branches, as shown and stick a gold star sticker to each side of the dowel at the top.
On the piece of white felt, trace a circle large enough to fit around the base of the tree. We used an over-sized mason jar lid.
Cut out the white felt circle and cut a slit to the middle, as shown.
Begin gluing large gold and red sequins around the edge of the circle.
Continue until the outer edge is covered.
Repeat Steps 12 & 13 with the medium sequins, then make two rows with the smaller sequins, and fill in the middle with the smallest sequins.
Loop gold craft wire through a jingle bell and twist to secure. Trim any excess, but leave enough wire to use as a hook.
Use round nose pliers to curve the wire into a hook.
Cut a 3″ piece of gold craft wire and create a small loop at the bottom, so the beads don’t fall off.
String on a small bicone, followed by a large bicone, followed by a small bicone. Twist wire to secure.
Trim off the excess, then add a wire hook.
Hang all the ornaments on your straw branches and add the tree skirt!
