Pinwheel Birdhouse

Dress up your yard for spring with the perfect mini birdhouse! Create an adorable mini picket fence from miniature clothespins and top it off with cute cupcake liner pinwheels!
Materials
- Skinny Sticks
- Large Wooden Birdhouse
- Acrylic Paint Jars
- Mini Clothespins
- Mini Wooden Sticks
- Mini Cupcake Liners
- Tape
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
Step 1. Gather your materials. | |
Step 2 Mix turquoise and white to make “Robin’s Egg Blue”. Paint the front of the birdhouse. | |
Step 3 Paint the roof white. | |
Step 4 Paint the bottom of the birdhouse green. Paint some grass onto the front and sides. | |
Step 5 Use tape to create guides to paint stripes. Cut the pieces into different widths and then paint in the blank spaces with yellow. | |
Step 6 Repeat on both sides and paint the front and back edges of the roof yellow. | |
Step 7 Paint 2 skinny sticks white. | |
Step 8 Paint 8 mini clothespins white. | |
Step 9 Clip the 8 mini clothespins onto one of the painted skinny sticks, spread evenly apart. Then, glue the other skinny stick onto the back clip in the middle of the clothespin. | |
Step 10 Glue the fence to the base of the front of the birdhouse. | |
Step 11 Glue 2 mini cupcake liners together, then cut 4 evenly spread slits about half way to the middle. | |
Step 12 Fold every other corner into the middle and glue to secure. Repeat Steps 10 & 11 to create a second pinwheel. | |
Step 13 Glue a silver bead into the center of each pinwheel. | |
Step 14 Glue the pinwheels to mini wood sticks. Cut one shorter than the other and glue to the base of the birdhouse, behind the fence. |
