Paper Bag Pom Pom Necklace

Upcycle a paper lunch bag to create an adorable pom pom necklace! Add wood beads for as a finishing touch!
Materials
- Wood Beads Tub
- Scissors
- 2 Paper Lunch Bags
Instructions
Step 1. Gather your supplies. | |
Step 2. Cut out the bottom of a brown lunch bag and spread the bag flat. | |
Step 3. Fold the paper in half. | |
Step 4. Fold in half two more times. | |
Step 5. Unfold once and cut down the middle crease. | |
Step 6. Cut along the remaining fold. You should have two piles of 4 pieces of paper. | |
![]() | Step 7. Take one pile of four and fold them accordion style, along the shorter edge. |
Step 8. Pinch the middle and tie. | |
Step 9. Cut the ends into a half circle. | |
Step 10. Spread out one side at a time. | |
Step 11. Pull apart the layers, one at a time. Pull gently and slowly to ensure the paper does not rip. | |
Step 12. Repeat steps 10 & 11 on the other side. | |
Step 13. Make 3 poms. Be sure that two are the same size and the last one is larger than the other two. | |
Step 14. Thread pink hemp through the tie in the middle of the pom, long enough to be a necklace. Secure with a knot. Tip: A needle may be helpful for this part! | |
Step 15. Tie a triple knot on each side about 3″ away from the center pom. | |
Step 16. String on three round wood beads and then tie a triple knot on the end of the beads to secure. | |
Step 17. Thread on the two remaining poms to each side, about 3″ away from the beads. Tie a knot to secure. | |
Step 18. Tie both ends of the cording together and wear your necklace! |
