Step 1. Gather your supplies.
First you’ll need to cut shapes for the owl’s body from construction paper. You can draw these shapes, or download our free template. Click the “template” button under the image of this project to download.
Trace the large body and wing templates onto the brown construction paper. Trace the smaller body circle onto white paper. Cut out these shapes.
Glue the white circle to the belly of the owl.
Lay one wing on the body as shown. Punch a hole through both the wing and body. Insert a brass fastener into the hole.
Flatten the back of the fastener to create a moveable wing. Repeat to create a second moveable wing for your owl.
The front looks like this!
Cut out (2) cups from the egg carton to make the eyes for the owl. Glue onto the head as shown.
Cut a small orange triangle out of construction paper to make the beak of the owl. Glue under the eyes.
Glue brown Feathers on the owl’s body, head and wings. Use white Feathers for the belly.
Follow Steps 5 and 6 of this Penguin Craft to create feet for the owl from Brown Fuzzy Sticks. Use tape to secure onto the back of the owl craft.
Draw eyeballs on the egg carton eyes using a black marker to complete your owl puppet!
