Mom’s Flower Box

Plant mom a box of flowers that will never die and stay vibrant all year round!

Materials


  • Acrylic Paint Jars Primary
  • Neon Poms
  • Colored Craft Sticks
  • Skill Sticks
  • Hot Glue ***May Require Adult Assistance
  • Brown Textured Craft Foam
  • Craft Knife ***May Require Adult Assistance
  • Scissors

Instructions


Step 1. Gather your supplies.

 

Step 2.

Paint (30) skill sticks white.

 

Step 3.

To create the box base, attach the ends of skill sticks as shown. Each side of the base uses (3) sticks.

 

Step 4.

To attach each side together, glue the two ends of the middle skill sticks together.

 

Step 5.

Continue building upon the base, the same way as you created it.

 

Step 6.

Measure the sides of the finished box, then draw a box the same size on craft foam.

 

Step 7.

Cut out and attach foam rectangle to the bottom of the box.

 

Step 8.

Cut brown textured foam sheet in half. We used  8″ x 5 1/2″ foam sheets and needed (2) sheets total.

 

Step 9.

Glue the ends of the foam sheet to the inside of the box, creating a small hill, as shown.

 

Step 10.

Press down in the middle of the foam hill and glue, to create (2) smaller hills.

 

Step 11.

Repeat until the box is full.

 

Step 12.

Write “MOM’S FLOWERS” using foam stickers.

 

Step 13.

Glue a 1″ pom to a green craft stick.

 

Step 14.

Glue a different color of 1″ poms around the first pom.

 

Step 15.

Repeat until you have as many flowers as you’d like.

 

Step 16.

Use a craft knife to create small slits in the tops of the hills.

 

Step 17.

Insert the flowers into the slits.
