  • Young Adult
  • Grades 1-3

An easy craft project made from a recycled glove that no longer has a match!

Materials

  • Friendship Thread Basic Colors
  • Acrylic Paint Pots, 12 Assorted Colors
  • Wiggly Eyes 7mm
  • Foam sheets - white, black
  • Craft Scissors
  • Craft Glue
  • Glove

Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut off the fingers of the glove. These will be the bases for your mice puppets.

Step 3.

Draw (2) oval like shapes on a piece of black foam sheet and use scissors to cut out shapes.

Step 4.

Paint one side of black ovals lightly with white Acrylic Paint and set aside to dry. These will be the ears for your mouse, the white side being the inside of the ears.

Step 5.

Cut out a tiny rectangle from a white foam sheet for the mouse’s teeth.

Step 6.

Cut a 1 1/2 inch piece of black Friendship Thread and separate the threads into two smaller groups each containing (3) threads.

Step 7.

Take one group of thread and a tie knot in the center. These are the mouse whiskers. Set aside the other thread group for another puppet.

Step 8.

Begin assembling your mouse. Glue on the ears, with the white sides facing you to the top of the body. Glue on the white Pom in the center of the ears.

Step 9.

Glue on the Wiggly Eyes.

Step 10.

Glue the small black Fuzzy Pom in the center of the glove finger for the nose. Slightly under the nose glue the knot of the whiskers followed by the white rectangle teeth.

Step 11.

Repeat steps 2-8 to complete four more mice finger puppets. Allow glue to dry for at least 30 minutes before putting on a memorable mice puppet performance!
