Start your Mardi Gras celebration off right with a customizable mask! Decorate it in traditional green, purple, and gold or add your own flare to it with your own color combination! 

Materials



Acrylic Gemstones
Paintbrushes
Rainbow Feathers
Glitter Glue
Acrylic Paints
Wooden Dowels

Step  1.

Gather your supplies.

Cut elastic string from a plastic mask. You will be making a different handle for your mask in a later step.

Step  3.

Use a foam brush to sponge on green paint to the plastic mask, then set it aside to dry.

Line the outside shape of the mask with glitter glue – we used gold. Then, set aside it to dry.

Use a foam brush and paint all four sides of the square wood dowel with purple paint. Set aside to dry.

Stick gemstones on the mask in any pattern you’d like.

Once the entire mask is dry, flip it over and glue feathers onto the top corner.

Use heavy-duty tape, such as duct tape, or ask an adult to use hot glue to adhere a wood dowel to the back of the mask as a handle. Once dry, you are ready to go to your next masquerade ball or to put on a play in celebration of Mardi Gras!
