Valentine’s Day Card
Using a creative folding method, create a unique interactive card for Valentine's day that expresses your love when opened or closed!
Step 1. Gather your supplies.
Fold a 7″ x 10″ piece of pink construction paper paper in half, as shown.
Open the paper. You will have a crease line in the middle from the previous step. Fold the right side of you paper into the middle, matching it up to the crease.
Fold the left side to the middle crease, it will meet up with the right side.
Unfold your paper. You should have four sections separated by three creased lines. Fold that third creased line all the way on the right, towards the middle crease, tucking the extra paper underneath. This creates a unique accordion type fold as shown.
Repeat Step 5 with the left side of your card.
To make this card interactive, draw a large heart in the center of the card, with the middle of the heart on the opening of the card. We also wrote the phrase “Share this Valentine with some you love because…” on the front.
Once you have completed the front of the card, open the card so that it is flat. Draw the inside of the card. We grew 2 halves of the 2 hearts on the creases. We also wrote the phrase “Two is better than one” inside. Make sure to finish with your Valentine’s message and sign your name!
Decorate your card using Paint, Silver Glitter Glue, Red Glitter Glue and Acrylic Jewels. Make sure to let the card dry completely before refolding it.
When folded, the card will fit in a 5″ x 7″ envelope.
Tip: Use this same fold for other holidays and occasions, such as drawing a cupcake for a birthday!
