Guest Post: Baby Jesus In A Manger

The following is a Guest Post from Celebrating With The Bug, a member of our Craft Project Ideas Blogger Network!
I’m not gonna lie, I was super-excited this summer when I came up with this fun baby Jesus craft for my children’s Christmas in July party! It’s such a cute craft, and it serves as a sweet reminder of just how very much Jesus loves them! With “real Christmas” coming fast, it seems the perfect time to share this fun kid craft with you!
I think this is one of the most fun and easy things I’ve found for little ones to make that helps them bring the true meaning of Christmas to life! It would also make a great accompaniment to reading the story of Christ’s birth (which can be found in the books of Mathew or Luke). I could go on and on about all the fun uses for this sweet baby Jesus in a manger, but I will restrain myself for now and show you how we made it instead!

Step 3.
Cut a square of white felt at least long as your popsicle stick, swaddle your baby like you would a real baby, then use a glue gun to secure the felt.
Cut out a red heart and write the letter “U” on it. Glue it onto the baby’s blanket! Jesus loves YOU! Get it?!

Step 4.
Roll the sides of the paper bag down almost all the way to form a manger, and lay your baby Jesus down to sleep.

What fun things do you like to do to help your children learn about the reason for the season? Go tell it in the comments! (10 points to you if you get this pun!)
