Glitter Painting: Hot Air Balloon

Use glitter to create a colorful painting of a hot air balloon in the sky.
Materials
- Paint Brushes Triangle Handle
- Construction paper (blue)
- White Card Stock
- Scrap paper
- Cotton Ball
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Craft Glue
- Small cup or plate (for glue)
Instructions
Step 1. Gather your supplies.

| Step 2.
Draw a basic balloon shape on white card stock. Draw basic shapes inside the balloon which you will decorate with Glitter. Tip: large shapes are easiest to decorate with glitter. We have created a basic balloon shape you can download and print by clicking the “template” button. |

| Step 3.
Use your Paintbrush to apply a generous amount of glue on all areas you want to cover with your first color. For our example, we “painted” the top stripe and balloon basket with the glue for blue glitter. |

| Step 4.
Sprinkle the glitter over the glued areas. You can apply lots of glitter to make sure that everything is covered. |

| Step 5.
Shake the excess glitter off the card stock onto your scrap paper. Fold the scrap paper to make a funnel, and gently shake the glitter back into the container. Tip: If glitter did not stick to an area, reapply more glue and pour on more glitter. |

| Step 6.
Repeat Steps 3-5 to complete the rest of your picture. |

| Step 7.
To make your edges look more finished, apply Glitter Glue around the outlines of your picture. Allow the design to dry thoroughly. |

| Step 8.
Cut out the Balloon, and glue to the blue construction paper with a glue stick. Tip: Angle the balloon slightly, so it looks like it’s floating in a breeze. |

| Step 9.
For a finishing touch, pull apart a cotton ball and glue pieces on the background as clouds. Congrats! You are a now a professional glitter painter! |
