Fuzzy Stick Sombrero

Craft a festive sombrero to celebrate Mexican culture!
Materials
- Yellow Pony Beads
- Red Pony Beads
- Green Pony Beads
- White Pony Beads
- Dark Colored Fuzzy Sticks
- Brown Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Compass
Instructions
Step 1. Gather your materials. | |
Step 2 Draw a 5" circle, then draw a 2" circle in the middle. | |
Step 3 Cut out both the inside and outside circles. | |
Step 4 Glue a light brown fuzzy stick around the outside edge of the circle. | |
Step 5 Cover the entire circle in fuzzy sticks. | |
Step 6 Continue gluing fuzzy sticks around the inner circumference to create the top of the sombrero. | |
Step 7 As you continue to build the top of the sombrero, thread green, white and red pony beads onto the fuzzy sticks to represent the Mexican flag. | |
Step 8 Cover the smaller circle from Steps 2 and 3 with light brown fuzzy sticks. | |
Step 9 Once you've created about 6 layers of fuzzy sticks, glue the small circle on top. | |
Step 10 Glue yellow pony beads around the outside edge of the brim. | |
Step 11 Cut 2" pieces of white friendship thread. Tie white, green and red pony beads to the end of each thread. | |
Step 12 Glue the threads to the bottom of the sombrero brim. |
