Fuzzy Stick Sombrero
Craft a festive sombrero to celebrate Mexican culture!
- Yellow Pony Beads
- Red Pony Beads
- Green Pony Beads
- White Pony Beads
- Dark Colored Fuzzy Sticks
- Brown Construction Paper
Step 1. Gather your materials.
Draw a 5" circle, then draw a 2" circle in the middle.
Cut out both the inside and outside circles.
Glue a light brown fuzzy stick around the outside edge of the circle.
Cover the entire circle in fuzzy sticks.
Continue gluing fuzzy sticks around the inner circumference to create the top of the sombrero.
As you continue to build the top of the sombrero, thread green, white and red pony beads onto the fuzzy sticks to represent the Mexican flag.
Cover the smaller circle from Steps 2 and 3 with light brown fuzzy sticks.
Once you've created about 6 layers of fuzzy sticks, glue the small circle on top.
Glue yellow pony beads around the outside edge of the brim.
Cut 2" pieces of white friendship thread. Tie white, green and red pony beads to the end of each thread.
Glue the threads to the bottom of the sombrero brim.
