Use this a-dough-rable foam craft to practice your shapes, spelling, and fine motor skills

  • Sweet Spelling: Word association helps students connect letters to the words they use every day — like ‘D’ for donuts. Can they think of other words associated with the letter ‘D?’ Dance along to Sesame Street’s ABC Song and explore other words to associate with all the letters!
  • A-glaze-ing Shapes: Tracing circles onto the foam sheets help your students strengthen their fine motor skills and shape recognition. Not all donuts are round — eclairs and cinnamon twists are rectangular, and some are even heart-shaped! Encourage the class to get creative by tracing and cutting unique donut shapes!

Melty beads make the perfect sensory sprinkles! What colorful pattern will your students create — will they add all of one color, a fun color-block pattern, or a rainbow mix? Once the beads are glued and dried, have your students run their hands across their craft. How does the soft foam feel against the bumpy beads? What other embellishments can they add for more texture?
