Firefly Art

Create the illusion of glowing fireflies using chalk and a blending technique! Free printable mason jar and firefly stencils!

Materials

  • Card Stock
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Glue Stick
  • Scissors

Instructions

 

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

 

 

 

Step 2.

 

Download, print and cut out the jar of the provided template, as shown. To download the template, simply click the “Template” button above.

 

Step 3.

 

Glue the printable to a piece of black construction paper.

 

Step 4.

 

Color in the lid of the jar using a silver paint stick.

 

Step 5.

 

Print the firefly template on card stock and cut out.

 

Step 6.

 

Trace one of the firefly stencils in yellow chalk.

 

Step 7.

 

Repeat Step 6 with the other stencils.

 

Step 8.

 

Using the blending tool, rub the edges of each firefly until it appears they have a slight glow!

 

Step 9.

 

Cut out around the mason jar, as shown.
