Materials

  • 25 Pack Assorted Paint Brushes
  • Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
  • Rainbow Poms Assorted Sizes, 100 pieces
  • Egg Carton
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue

Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut the lid off the egg carton.  The holes on the egg carton will be openings for pictures. Depending on the type of egg carton you have, you might have to cut the holes. We had to cut out some of the extra material, as seen in our example.

Step 3.

Paint the inside of the egg carton frame, and let dry.

Step 4.

Using the bottom half of the egg carton, cut out (2) of the dividers used for the egg cups.

Step 5.

Trim the (2) pieces to be even. Turn them over to look like little cups. These will become the base for mini cupcakes.

Step 6.

Paint the outside of the cups and let dry.

Step 7.

To make the top of the cupcakes, glue a large pom in each cup, and add a smaller pom on top.

Step 8.

Glue the cupcakes in the egg carton frame, as shown, making sure the 2 small holes in the carton of the frame are at the top. These holes will be used for hanging the frame.

Step 9.

Decorate the frame with stickers and glitter glue. We used the letter stickers to spell “BFS 4 EVER”.

Step 10.

To get the frame ready for hanging, thread a 12” piece of the pink braiding cord through the 2 small holes at the top of the frame.  Add some beads to the cord.

Step 11.

Once you have added enough beads to the each side of the cord, tie the cord together and trim off excess with scissors.

Step 12.

Find pictures that can be sized to the openings in the frame. Print and glue to the back of the frame.  Your recycled egg carton frame is now ready to hang!
