Cork Giraffe

Use wine corks to make a giraffe! Add more corks to his neck to make him very tall, or use fewer to have a mini giraffe!

Materials


  • Natural Fuzzy Sticks
  • Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
  • Wiggly Eyes 10mm
  • 8 Wine Corks
  • 1 Champagne Cork
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun ***May Require Adult Assistance

Instructions


Step 1. Gather your supplies.


Step 2.

Mix together yellow paint with a little bit of brown to create a mustard color. Paint (8) wine corks and (1) champagne cork with this mustard yellow color.


Step 3.

To create the body of the giraffe, glue (4) wine corks on an angle, which will be the giraffe’s legs, to (1) wine cork, laying horizontally to be the giraffe’s body.


Step 4.

Glue on (2) (or more) corks to the end of the body, one on top of the other to create the giraffe’s neck.


Step 5.

Glue the champagne cork to the top of the neck, as shown.


Step 6.

Cover your giraffe in spots using brown paint.


Step 7.

Paint two lines on his snout and glue two wiggly eyes to his head so he can see!


Step 8.

Cut (2) 1″ pieces of light brown fuzzy stick and fold in half to be the giraffe’s ears.


Step 9.

Cut (2) 1/2″ pieces of light brown fuzzy stick and glue (2) miniature brown poms on top.


Step 10.

Glue to the top of his head and your giraffe is complete!
