Coffee Pod Castle Tower

Build a castle tower out of coffee pods. Make sure your princess's hair is long enough to be saved by her knight in shining armor!

Materials


  • Feathers White
  • Friendship Thread Basic Colors
  • Pastel Fuzzy Sticks
  • Extra Fine Glitter Variety Pack
  • Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
  • Craft Sticks 50 Pack
  • 7 Coffee Pods
  • Craft Glue
  • Hot Glue ***May Require Adult Assistance
  • Pink Marker
  • Black Marker
  • Card Stock
  • Scissors

Instructions


Step 1.

Gather your supplies.

 

Step 2.

Glue together (6) coffee pods as shown.

 

Step 3.

Paint gray.

 

Step 4.

Mix gray paint with a little bit of black paint to create a dark gray. Paint stripes around the tower as shown.

 

Step 5.

Paint vertical lines between all the stripes to create bricks.

 

Step 6.

Paint another coffee pod gray.

 

Step 7.

Cut off about 1″ from the coffee pod.

 

Step 8.

Paint bricks in dark gray.

 

Step 9.

Download, print and cut out provided circle template on card stock.

 

Step 10.

Paint dark gray.

 

Step 11.

Cut slit to the middle.

 

Step 12.

Wrap into a cone shape.

 

Step 13.

Glue cone to top of single coffee pod.

 

Step 14.

Paint a craft stick gray.

 

Step 15.

Glue to the inside of the single coffee pod.

 

Step 16.

Glue craft stick to the inside of the top coffee pod.

 

Step 17.

Twist the ends of (2) green fuzzy sticks together.

 

Step 18.

Wrap fuzzy sticks around the tower to create a vine, as shown. Secure with glue at the top and the bottom.

 

Step 19.

Cut 3″ pieces of green fuzzy sticks.

 

Step 20.

Bend into a leaf shape.

 

Step 21.

Glue leaves to the vine.

 

Step 22.

Paint the top of the clothespin peach.

Step 23.

Cover the area from the top of the clothespin to the break in the clothespin in fine iridescent glitter.

 

Step 24.

Fold golden friendship thread until you are happy with the thickness. Make sure it is a little shorter than the tower.

 

Step 25.

Glue to the clothespin, as shown.

 

Step 26.

Cut white and pink feathers to about 2″.

 

Step 27.

Glue pink feathers around clothespin, starting where the glitter ends.

 

Step 28.

Glue white feathers on top of pink.

 

Step 29.

Draw eyes and a mouth on your princess.
