Cardboard Tube Wreath

Cut apart and reuse pieces of a cardboard tube to create a festive holiday wreath.

Materials


  • 25 Pack Assorted Paint Brushes
  • Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
  • 2 Large Cardboard Tubes
  • Pencil
  • Stapler
  • Hole Punch
  • Scissors
  • White Paper
  • Green Foam
  • Wax Paper

Instructions


 

Step 1. Gather your supplies.


 

 

 

Step 2.

 

Paint the cardboard tubes green and let dry.

Tip: Cover your work surface with wax paper to make it easier to paint the tubes.

 

Step 3.

 

Once the painted tubes have dried, gently pull the tubes apart along the seams.

 

Step 4.

 

Paint the inside of the tubes green and let dry.

 

Step 5.

 

Download, print and cut out the template. To download the template, click the “Template” button above. Trace the wreath template on the green foam.

 

Step 6.

 

Cut out the foam wreath.

 

Step 7.

 

Once the tubes have dried, cut a piece from the end of the tube, approximately 1/2” wide.

 

Step 8.

 

Continue cutting both tubes into pieces.

 

Step 9.

 

Take 2 pieces of cut tube and place the ends together at an angle, as shown.

 

Step 10.

 

Staple the overlapping pieces to the foam wreath.

 

Step 11.

 

Repeat steps 9-10 until the wreath is filled out. Make a loop with a cardboard piece and staple it to the top of the wreath for hanging.

 

Step 12.

 

Punch a hole in one of the cardboard loops on the wreath.

 

Step 13.

 

Cut a glitter stick in 4 pieces.

 

Step 14.

 

Thread a jingle bell on one of the shimmer stick pieces and attach to the punched hole.

 

Step 15.

 

Repeat steps 12-14 on different loops around the wreath.

 

Step 16.

 

To finish the wreath, decorate with holiday stickers and glitter glue.
