Preschoolers: Place the bags of poms in front of your child and ask them to identify and sort the colors. Young children will enjoy placing these fuzzy pom accessories on the candy corn.
![]()
Early Elementary: Use oil pastels for the orange and yellow sections of the candy corn. Fill in the top section with white glue and iridescent glitter. Finish by outlining the candy corn with gold glitter glue.

Older Elementary: Have your child search for different craft materials in white, orange and yellow. We used feathers, craft sticks, beads, stickers, and even jingle bells. Encourage them to be creative with the materials.
Teacher's Corner
Gather any and all white, orange, and yellow craft supplies to decorate this one-of-a-kind candy corn printable!
Lesson Objectives
- Sweet Senses: From pom balls to glitter, feathers and gems — craft time is a great opportunity to introduce new textures and shapes! Have your students explore different materials to choose what they’d like to use to decorate their candy corns!
- Candy Colors: Bright colors, like yellow and orange, are great for color association and students have fun crafting with them. Plus, the more materials you introduce, the more shades and hues students can pick from! Have your students identify similar colors around them by writing or drawing a list of objects — like a traffic light, school bus, or even some fruits!
Follow-up Discussion
Everyone loves Halloween candy, but moderation is key! While your students craft their candy corn printables, take a minute to talk about sugar intake and the importance of taking care of your body. Explain why healthy teeth are important and how to prevent cavities, especially after celebrating candy-coated holidays like Halloween.
