Bottle Cap Advent Calendar
Add some excitement to the pre holiday season with a DIY recycled Advent calendar! Place a sweet treat or small trinket inside to countdown the days til Christmas!
- Glitter Fuzzy Sticks
- Gold Glitter Glue 2.98 oz.
- Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
- Glitter Poms Assorted Sizes 75 Pack
- 3 Paper Towel Tubes
- 2 Toilet Roll Tubes
- 25 Large Bottle Caps
- Card Stock
Step 1. Gather your supplies.
Paint (3) paper towel tubes green.
Mark 1.5″ increments on each tube.
Cut the tubes at the 1.5″ marks. You need to have (21) green mini tubes.
Paint (2) toilet roll tubes brown.
Cut into 1.5″ pieces. You will need (4) mini brown tubes.
Paint (21) large bottle caps (large enough to fit on a cardboard tube) green.
Number the green bottle caps 1-21 using gold glitter glue.
Paint (4) large bottle caps brown.
Number the brown bottle caps 22-25 using gold glitter glue.
Put the green bottle caps on the green cardboard tubes. Do the same with the brown caps and tubes.
Create the shape of a tree with the tubes on a piece of card stock, as shown. Glue down.
Bend a gold glitter stick into a star shape.
Glue to the top of the tree.
Decorate the tree with red, green, white and gold glitter poms.
Tip: Make sure the poms are attached to only one cap. When removing the caps, you do not want the poms to be stuck!
