Christmas Tree Advent Calendar

’tis the season to upcycle! Prepare for the holiday season with a DIY advent Christmas tree calendar and start counting down the days!

3 Paper Towel Cardboard Tubes
2 Toilet Paper Carboard Tubes
25 Large Bottle Caps
1 Sheet of Cardstock

Paint all 3 long cardboard tubes green.

Mark 1.5 inch increments on each tube.

Cut the tubes at each mark until you have 21 mini tubes.

Paint the 2 smaller cardboard tubes brown. Then, measure and cut 1.5-inch pieces until you have 4 mini tubes.

Paint 21 large bottle caps green. Use gold glitter glue to number them 1-21.

Paint 4 large bottle caps brown and number them 22-25 using gold glitter glue.

Glue the green cardboard tubes inside each of the green bottle caps. Then, do the same for the brown tubes and caps.

Create the shape of a tree with the tubes on a piece of card stock and glue it down, as shown.
- TIP: Add chocolates, candies, or other small items into your Advent calendar before gluing the tubes to the cardstock.

Cut the cardstock into the shape of the Christmas tree until there is no white showing.

Bend a gold glitter fuzzy stick into a star shape. Then glue it to the top of the tree.

Decorate the tree with red, green, white, and gold glitter poms for extra shine.
- TIP: Make sure the poms are attached to only one cap. When removing the caps, you don’t want to poms to be stuck!
