Tulip Handprint Frame
Have your child, as young as preschool age, create some beautiful tulips using their hands and Finger Paint. Turn this creative playtime into a completed magnetic frame to hang on the fridge!
Step 1. Gather your supplies.
Begin with an 8 x 8 inch piece of card stock. Cover your child's left hand with Finger Paint and press firmly onto the left side of the paper. Make sure to leave room underneath to include the stem in a later step. Repeat with your child's right hand -you might want to use a different color paint.
Have your child dip a finger in green Finger Paint and then make lines at the bottom of the picture to make grass.
Once dry, an adult can apply glue to the back of the painting.
Glue the painting to a 8 x 8 inch piece of cardboard for added stability.
Have an adult cut a green craft stick in half using the heavy duty scissors.
Have your child glue the cut green craft sticks to the paper under each hand print to create stems for the flowers.
Assist your child in making a frame around the picture with yellow craft sticks. Apply craft glue to the back of the sticks and apply to the edges of the frame. Add 2 green sticks across the bottom to complete the frame.
To make a sun, have your child glue a yellow Pom, to the top right corner of the paper using craft glue. Have your child use their fingers and yellow Finger Paint to add yellow rays around the sun.
Have an adult add (3) Magnetic Strips on the back of your frame, one on the top and one on each side.
Add a label to the front of the frame for that personalized touch. If the child is able, have him or her write their name. Otherwise label with their name and age for their Grandparents to enjoy for years to come!
