Cardinal Christmas Tree Ornament
Use jingle bells to create cute cardinals and place them in a wood stick Christmas tree!
Step 1. Gather your supplies.
Cut ¼” off of (1) skinny stick. Save the left over ¼” for top of tree. Then cut (1) skinny stick in half and 1” off of other half of skinny stick.
Paint (2) full skinny sticks and the pieces from Step 2. We mixed green, turquoise and a little black paint to create a darker green color.
Place (1) full skinny stick vertically on the table. Glue the skinny sticks in descending order from top to bottom, leaving space at the top for a star and about an inch on the bottom.
Glue an acrylic star jewel to the top of the tree. Set tree aside.
Using a hot glue gun, glue together two red jingle bells.
Cut a red glitter stick in half and wrap one half around the middle of the jingle bells from Step 6. Loop each side into the middle as shown.
Tuck the left over glitter stick into the middle of the jingle bells and fold down, so they look like wings.
Cut a small piece of gold glitter stick and fold it in half. This will be the beak of the cardinal.
Glue the gold glitter stick to the head of the cardinal. Add wiggly eyes.
Create a second cardinal, repeating Steps 6-10. Glue the cardinals to the tree.
Cut a 2” piece of red friendship thread, loop it and glue it to the top of the back of the tree as shown.
