Holiday Clothespin Characters
Celebrate the season by making cute Clothespin character! Using the tips seen here, you can create characters for other holidays or any day play.
Step 1. Gather your supplies.
To make the snowman, paint a Clothespin white and let dry.
Decorate your snowman. Use black Poms to make buttons and a small piece of orange Fuzzy Stick for the carrot nose. Finish the face with black paint.
To make the reindeer, paint a Clothespin brown. Paint black at the bottom to create the hoofs. Let dry.
Decorate your reindeer. Create antlers by bending a piece of brown Fuzzy Stick, and ears using brown foam. Finish the reindeer by painting details on the face.
To make the elf, paint a Clothespin using green and black, let dry.
While the elf is drying, cut a triangular piece of green felt, approximately 2”.
Roll the felt together to make a tall skinny hat and glue to secure.
Glue to the elf's head. Finish decorating by painting details on his face and gluing on pink foam ears.
To make the toy soldier, paint a Clothespin red, blue, and black. Let dry.
While the soldier is drying, cut a 1 x 2" small rectangle out of black
foam and roll around a small red pom, using glue to secure. Wrap a gold Glitter Stick around the brim to complete the soldier's hat.
To finish the solider, glue on his hat and a piece of white
Fuzzy Stick to make a beard. Use a detailed brush to complete his facial features and buttons on his hat, as shown.
To make Santa, paint a Clothespin red and black, as shown. Let Dry.
Follow steps 7-8 using red felt to create Santa's hat. Glue a tiny white Pom to the end and use a white Fuzzy Stick to make the brim of the hat. Fold the top down and glue, as shown.
Finish Santa by painting on his face and decorations. Use a piece of white Fuzzy Stick to make his beard.
